There are lots of fun ways to get involved in helping the children of Derbyshire by donating or fundraising. Each weekly break costs £340 per child and we operate solely on the support, help and donations of the public and businesses.

Donate:

Text giving: Text DCHC to 70085 to donate £3. Texts cost £3 plus one standard rate message

Standing order: A regular donation of just £5 per month standing order provides a child with vital books and educational materials to help them learn during their time at the Centre. Simply download and fill out the standing order form and send to us. Don’t forget, if you are a UK taxpayer, gift aiding your donation allows us to reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift at no extra cost to you – adding an extra 25p onto every £1 you give.

Online donation through JustGiving: Visit our JustGiving page or simply donate to the Centre by cheque or cash by contacting our Derby head office on 01332 345424.

The 660 Club – for corporate partners and individuals, a monthly donation of just £28 means that, with gift aid, your annual gift will pay for the holiday of one child. Members benefits include a certificate, an annual update from the Centre and special handwritten note from one of the children. Download The 660 Club application form

Fundraise:

Do your thing: There a loads of things you can do to help us, whether it’s a bake-off style cake sale, car wash, supermarket bag pack, dress down day or sponsored walk. Get in touch at admin@dchc.org.uk for all the info and support you need! Whether its pennies or pounds, every effort is hugely worthwhile and gratefully received.

Events:

DCHC holds, hosts and supports events throughout the year. Cycle rides, cinema events, open gardens, golf tournaments and more. Get involved by coming along and taking part, or if you want to hold an event on our behalf, we’d be delighted to give you our support. List of current events can be found on our events page.

Wills and legacies:

Anything you leave in a will or legacy will go directly into helping a child have a holiday. Below are different types of legacy, but for more information or advice on how to leave for DCHC please contact us at admin@dchc.org.uk or call us on 01332 345424. We also have a leaflet which explains more and allows you to leave us a gift.

Legacies typically fall into the following categories:

A Pecuniary legacy (a fixed sum on money). This is often the most obvious and easy option, but it is worth remembering that with inflation the actual value of your gift might be less than you intended. An index-linked legacy can help.

A Residuary legacy. This is where you leave a set proportion of your estate (or all that’s left) to charity after all other beneficiaries are taken care of and bills and taxes paid.

A Specific legacy. This is a gift of a definable object, usually land, property, jewellery or shares, but can be anything.

A Memoriam gift. You may wish for a plate collection by your friends and colleagues at the time of your passing to be donated by DCHC.

A Reversionary gift. When DCHC do not receive your legacy until another person who has the benefit of your estate whilst they are alive has passed away.

Before you decide on which is the best option, we advise that you talk to your family and/or a solicitor.

Thanks again for getting involved – every pound raised goes to helping the most deserving children in Derbyshire have a holiday they might never otherwise get.
